Six Killed, Several Injured In Fresh Blast In Potiskum, Yobe State
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Sunday, February 1st, 2015From Mustapha Abdul Salaam-No fewer than six persons were feared killed and about 35 victims were seriously injured Sunday, in yet another suicide bomb explosion in Potiskum, Yobe State, North Eastern Nigeria.
AFRICAN EXAMINER Correspondent in Damanturu, State capital gathered that the blast occurred around 1:20pm in front of the residence of the Peoples’ Democratic Party candidate for the Potiskum/Nangere Federal constituency in of the State, Sabo Garbu, a location very close to the Federal Government College in the town.
The suicide bomber after arriving the residence premises of the politician detonated the explosives in its front shortly after.
Potiskum town has since late last year become one of the targets of the insurgents’ renewed attacks. It would be recalled over 50 students of a government Secondary school in the town, were killed mid-November, 2014 when a suicide bomber disguised and stormed the school’s assembly on a Monday morning.
