Sit- At Home: Unknown Gunmen Set State Broadcasting Station, Vehicles Ablaze In Anambra
Latest Headlines, News Across Nigeria, News From The State Monday, May 30th, 2022(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Anambra State police Command has confirmed another Monday attack on the State owned broadcasting Corporation ABS in the Commercial city of Onitsha, by unknown Gunmen terrorising the state and other parts of South East Nigeria.
The hoodlums who stormed the Station in the early hours of today, set vehicles parked in the premises of the Station on fire.
Although, no life was lost, some of the staff sustained various degrees of injuries after the attack.
Police public Relations officer PPRO in the State, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, who confirmed the attack, said their operatives prevented further damage to the building by the hoodlums.
He said: “Following a distress call today 30/5/2022 at about 4:30am of a case of arson in Anambra State Broadcasting Station Idemili North, the Police Operatives responded swiftly and prevented the hoodlums from causing damage on the structure.
“Unfortunately two operational vehicles belonging to station were affected. No life was lost.
“Meanwhile, the station has been cordoned off and Operation is still ongoing in the area. Further development shall be communicated please.
The affected Station is located at Awada, area of Onitsha the Commercial city.
