Shame as MOPOL Attached To STF In Plateau Rapes 4 Year Old Girl

A member of the Special Task Force (STF) attached to Sector 7 in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau state, Officer Damudu Bzigu has been accused of raping a 4-year-old girl.

African Examiner gathered that the victim Helen Kim told her parents that a police officer raped her in his home Tuesday evening.

Narrating the barbaric act to journalists in Barkin Ladi town on Wednesday, the father of the victim Mr Timothy Kim said:

“Yesterday (Tuesday) at about 8: pm we uncovered blood stains on the clothes of our daughter Helen, and upon interrogations she revealed that a Police officer raped her.

“This morning, we reported that matter to the Sector Commander, he assembled all the members of the sector within the area and our daughter identified the culprit, and it was somebody well known to us as a family, my wife sometimes does cook and offer him.”

At the Barkin ladi General Hospital, a Medical Personnel Bapigaan Audu, who carried out tests on the victim, said the girl was inflected with serious injuries; therefore was exposed to sexually transmitted diseases.

“Her Holman has already been destroyed by the act, on arrival here she was bleeding, but we have done everything possible and restore her health.

Audu lamented that several of such cases were on the increase in the locality.

“Between August and March this year, we have treated 10 cases, and the most unfortunate thing is that all of this cases I mention earlier are all minors; parents must wakeup to their responsible of taking care of their wards against evil men.” He advised.

However efforts to speak with the Sector Commander were unsuccessful as Journalists were denied access to the headquarters of the Sector in Barkin Ladi.

Reacting to the development, Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government, Emmanuel Loman, said he has visited the Commander of Sector 7 and discussed how to handle the matter.

His words: “I contacted the Sector Commander here in Barkinladi, he told me the person in question has been arrested and transferred to the State Headquarters for further interrogation.

“This is not the first time this kind of thing is happening among STF posted to our local government, I witnessed a case of such case last year, but it seems the matter has been swept under the Carpet.

“This time, I must follow this case to its logical conclusion; he must be brought to book to serve as a deterrent.” He stressed.

Loman further stated that it seems members of the STF might have forgotten their roles in the state, adding that iIn spite of their presence here in the state, security challenges have remained with us.”

The rape incident generated tension in Barkinladi town, as youth in the area were threatening a mob action against members of the Special Task Force (STF).
