Senator Pwajok Wins Plateau PDP Guber Ticket
Latest Headlines, News From The State, Nigeria 2015 Election, Politics Tuesday, December 9th, 2014Agabus Pwanagba, Jos – Ahead of the 2015 gubernatorial election in Plateau State, Senator representing Plateau North, Gyang Pwajok has defeated 15 other aspirants to emerge as the governorship candidate.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Alhaji Abdullahi Ohoma who announced the results said, out of the 818 delegates who voted, Sen. Pwajok scored 435 votes, the State’s Deputy Governor, Ignatius Logjan came a distant second with 163 votes.
He commended delegates for their peaceful conduct and urged them to do same during the general elections.
Also, Senator representing Plateau Central, Joshua Dariye adjudged the election as peaceful calling on those who lost to support the party during the general election.
Other aspirants who contested were Dr. Haruna Dabin, Hon. John Clerk Dabwan, Sen. Victor Lar, Apostle Chris Bature and Arch. John Alkali.
Others are Amb. Fidelis Tapgun, Prof. Sonny Theoden, Bitrus Bako Nabasu, Engr. Jimmy Cheto, Hon. Nandom Pyanap, Hon. Kemi Nshe Nicolas, Godfrey Miri, Dr. Joseph Golwa and Prof. Lonmas Wapmuk.
African Examiner online observed that the election was conducted under tight security and lasted till the early hours of Tuesday.
