Senator Lar Joins Plateau Governorship Race

As the battle for 2015 Plateau Governorship election gatheres momentum, an aspirant and Senator, representing Plateau Southern district, Victor Lar, has affirmed that incumbent Governor Jonah Jang will not impose candidate from Northern zone in the forthcoming PDP primary.
Lar made the disclosure Friday in Jos, the state capital, when he visited the PDP Secretariat to express his desire to contest as well as readiness to pick nomination form next week.
“The right to contest is everybody’s right. Governor Jonah Jang will not produce another aspirant from the Northern Zone, but any person from the zone is free to run.
“The point is the unwritten law of equity and justice, written in the subconsciousness of the Plateau people, will determine where the majority of the voters will vote.
“I have come to intimate my party leaders of my noble intention to present myself for the service of our State by seeking the state PDP governorship ticket “, Senator Lar submitted.
The lawmaker who revealed his political journey started 32 years ago, stated the dearest need of the people of the State is, “Restoration of peace through enhance security and good governance” he would provide that for the people of Plateau State.
Responding, the Acting State PDP Chairman, Raymond Dabo, commended Senator Lar for following the right process by informing the party leadership in the State.
Dabo who was represented by the Zonal Vice Chairman Central, Hon. Yusuf Tokkit, guaranteed a level playing ground to all aspirants.
