Senator Ajibola Defeats Gbemi Saraki, Belgore, Others To Clinch Kwara PDP Guber Ticket
Latest Headlines, News, Nigeria 2015 Election Friday, December 12th, 2014Oyewale Oyelola, Ilorin-Senator Suleiman Ajibola has emerged as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kwara state.
The incumbent Senator representing Kwara South emerged as winner of PDP governorship primary election held on Thursday at Open Arcade event centre, Ilorin.
The result announced by Chairman of Kwara Governorship Electoral panel, Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue on Friday shows that Ajibola polled 144 votes, followed by Dele Belgore with 130 votes while Gbemisola Saraki came third with 113 votes.
Others polled the following votes; Senator Mokanjuola Ajadi (107), Professor Oba Abdulraheem (58), Hon. Bio Ibrahim (45), Engineer Jani Ibrahim (27), Alhaji Hakeem Lawal (13), Deacon John Dara (four), Sunday Babalola (three) and Kale Belgore (one) while Sanusi Abdullahi got no vote.
African Examiner correspondent reports that the primary election was held in Ilorin under tight security.
