Senate Probes Maina’s Re-Instatement into Civil Service
Featured, Latest Headlines, News, Uncategorized Tuesday, October 24th, 2017(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Senate has set an Ad-Hoc committee to determine the circumstances surrounding the resurface and reinstatement former head of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina into civil service.
The Ad-Hoc committee is made of Chairmen and Vice Chairmen Senate standing committees on Public Services and Establishment, Internal Affairs, Judiciary and Anti Corruption
It would be recalled that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had since declared Abdulrasheed Maina wanted on corruption charges.
At the plenary Senator Isa Misau from Bauchi Central raised the issue of suspicion return and reinstatement of Abdulrasheed Maina into civil service.
Many other senators who contributed to the debate on the floor of the senate supported the move by the senate to investigate Abdulrasheed Maina and other who aided his return and reinstatement into civil service.
While rounding up debate the Senate President Bukola Saraki asked the committee to leave no stone unturned in their assignment.
Meanwhile the Senate has also passed a resolution to commend President Muhammadu Buhari for taken prompt action by asking for disengagement of Abdulrasheed Maina from service and calling for investigation.
