Boko Haram: Scores killed, Injured In Deadly Attack In Borno, Adamawa
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Monday, December 28th, 2015Barely 24 hours after attacks on some villages in the city, Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, had Monday again become the target of the deadly suspected Boko Haram terrorists, when they hit the ancient city with explosion, in which not less than 20 people died, while several others severely injured.
The explosion which was mistaken for the explosives abandoned by the insurgents, on Sunday, occurred in the morning closed to a mosque in Buraburin area of Maiduguri.
Most of the victims were said to be trapped, when they attempted to confirm if truly the exploded devices were abandoned in the area by the terrorists.
The Military while reacting to Sunday attacks by the Militants in Aladuwari village and Jiddari area countered that contrary to the media reports and rumours, two Boko Haram terrorists suspected suicide bombers earlier intercepted by vigilant troops.
The Spokesperson of the Army’s Operation Lafiya Dole, Col. Mustapha Anka the insurgents planned to enter the city with the aim of detonating bombs in selected public places.
The incident occurred after the worshippers finished the early Morning Prayer.
In a related development, many people were feared dead and injured Monday morning when two female suicide bombers stormed a mini market closed to a motor park in Madagali, Adamawa State.
The attack which occurred early in the morning claimed about 30 lives in the ever busy park in the town. The suicide bombers detonated the explosives inside a mini market near the motor park.
The Military in Mubi has confirmed the incident. It also affirmed that the victims of the attacks have been taken to the hospital for treatment, while the area has been cordoned by the security operatives.
