Scores Killed In Fresh Explosion In Potiskum, Yobe State

The seemingly abated explosion era in the Northern part of country, has returned as another deadly blast erupted in Potiskum, Yobe State late Monday morning.
AFRICAN EXAMINER Correspondent reported that the Monday explosion which occurred at a famous Faydia Islamic school located in the old market of Potiskum town. The school is owned by Shiite Islamic sect members.
It was gathered that the blast occurred when Shiite members gathered were about to commence on a procession to mark the Muharram 10 – Ashura Day, of the first new Hijrah 1436 AH calendar.
The special day is also marked with voluntary fasting by the Muslim faithful in line with the practice of Prophet Muhammed.
Several People were killed and many sustained severe injuries in the explosion by the suspected bombers.
There is no official confirmation yet on the blast and the casualties.
It would be recalled another Northern state, Gombe witnessed explosion at its commercial transport lines park last Friday. Almost 30 people were killed, while many injured in the unfortunate incident.
