Saraki Directs Revenue Commission To Publicly Publish Lawmakers’ Allowances
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Wednesday, June 17th, 2015Ayodele Afolabi, Abuja – The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki has ordered the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC to publish the allowances of the Federal legislators on the Commission’s website.
Saraki who stated this on Wednesday on his twitter handle said that “RMAFC ought to do this in a matter of days.”
He said that the current challenges facing the country makes it imperative for RMAFC to review the allowances of the federal lawmakers.
He added that: “The Chairman of RMAFC was in my office today to clarify the issue of wardrobe allowance.
“I have asked them (RMAFC) to do so (pubish) in a matter of days and we should all follow up to keep them on their toes. With the current challenges facing us as a nation, RMAFC will be reviewing the allowances”.
Saraki however noted that fixing of allowances for political office holders, including Lawmakers, is the sole responsibility of the ordered the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
