Some traditional rulers in Rivers State, South-South Nigeria, have pledged their support for the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside.

The monarchs under the umbrella of Ikwerre Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers in Isiokpo, declared that Dr. Peterside was the sole governorship candidate of the Ikwerre nationality in the coming governorship poll.
According to the council, its endorsement of the APC candidate was borne out of its resolve to uphold equity and justice as well as ensuring that the riverine section of the state presents the next governor of the state.
The traditional Council comprises first class and all Government-recognised traditional rulers in the four Ikwerre areas, namely, Obio/Akpor, Port Harcourt City, Emohua and Ikwerre Local Government areas.
