Apparently worried by the alleged complicity of the commissioner of police in Rivers state, Joseph Mbu, in the ongoing political crisis in the area, the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, is set to drag the police chief to the United Nations. (UN).
To this end, the party Wednesday put in place a 3-man committee to compile a comprehensive list of atrocities perpetrated by the Police chief, since assumption of office in February 2013 in the state.
The committee, African Examiner gathered is to forward the petition to the United Nations after completing their assignment.
Mr. Andy Nweye, is to head the committee with Chukwuemeka Eze as Secretary and Emeka Bekee, as member, just as it has two weeks to submit its report.
Our correspondent reports that Mbu, had come under serious criticism in many quarters as well as the APC in recent times because of the manner the state police command had handled the lingering political crisis in Rivers state.
Mbu, was alleged to have taken sides with a group of politicians opposed to the state governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
The police chief, is also being accused of taking orders from the First Lady and wife of the president, Patience Jonathan and supervising Minister of education, Nyesome Wike, both whom are indigenes of the state against the governor.
It would be recalled that Governor Amaechi, had repeatedly asked for the redeployment, of the controversial CP, as well as dragged him to the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC for his alleged professional misconduct.
