Rivers APC Gov. Candidate, Peterside Escapes Death At Campaign Rally In Okrika

From Collins Amadi, Port Harcourt – The Rivers State opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Dakuku Peterside Tuesday escaped death by whiskers during his rally, at the Okrika Local Government Area of the South South State.
Before gunshots and arrival of gunmen, three explosions erupted very close to the Okrika National Secondary School Field venue of the rally. This resulted into palpable fear among the party’s supporters who thronged the campaign, hence ran for safety.
However, party members returned to the field, while the sporadic gunshot persisted.
Barely after the rally amid fear, Dr. Peterside was whisked away by security operatives, as the gunshot was coming in torrent and at a very close range.
Similarly, the party stalwarts and others who attended the rally hurriedly left the venue and ran for cover.
It would be recalled the APC rally could not hold in the same Local government, last month as the podium meant for the rally were destroyed, and members were sent away by attackers and gunmen.
