Quickwin: Kwara Vows to Tackle Youth Unemployment
Latest Headlines, News, News From The State Thursday, May 22nd, 2014The Kwara State government says its Quickwin Empowerment Scheme will reduce unemployment and improve the state socio-economic development in the State.
The Chairman, Quickwin Empowerment Programme, Alhaji Isiaka Gold stated this while addressing the 200 Kwara Road Traffic Management Authority Trainees under the scheme at the National Youth Camp, Eyenkorin, Ilorin.
Alhaji Gold, who is also the Secretary to the State Government said 5,200 youths, had been empowered through the QuickWin programme while 8,200 would be empowered before the end of this year.
He noted that the empowerment of the first batch of the beneficiaries was in fulfilment of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed promise of giving necessary attention to the youth.
Alhaji Gold charged the KWARTMA Trainees to take the training programme seriously and put the knowledge acquired into use while on the field to ensure that road users obey traffic laws and regulations across the state.
Also speaking, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of KWARTMA, Mr. Raheem Mustapha disclosed that the Authority was giving adequate and relevant training to the officers to enable them perform their duties in line with current realities.
Responding on behalf of the trainees, the Squadron Leader, Mr. Abdulraheem Abdulrasheed appreciated the state government for the empowerment and promised not to disappoint the government.
