Rivers state police command on Thursday removed security escorts and guards attached to the office and official residence of the Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG) George Feyii and Governor Amaechi’s Chief of Staff, Chief Tony Okocha.
Chief Okocha said no reason was given for the strange withdrawal, a development that further berates Police commissioner Joseph Mbu who has continued to work against the elected governor of the state, Gov. Rotimi Amaechi, who is the constitutionally the chief security officer of the state.
African Examiner gathered that about fifteen heavily armed policemen holding a copy of the signal containing the withdrawal instruction, invaded the residence of the chief of staff to forcefully carry out the order.
As a result of the sudden withdrawal, Chief Tony Okocha has cried out that his life is in danger adding, “If anything goes wrong, Mbu should be held responsible.”
His words: “My life is in danger. If anything goes wrong, Mbu should be held responsible. He does not pick my calls” explaining that “there was pandemonium when the invading policemen got to my official residence and they held everybody to ransom.”
