Police Rescue 84-Year-Old Woman; Daughter From Kidnappers In Enugu

ENUGU, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Enugu State Police command has rescued a 84-year-old woman and her daughter from kidnappers den.
According to the State Police Public Relations officer (PPRO), Ebere Amarizu, the victims, idenfied as Roseline Odoh and Josephine Odoh, were allegedly abducted on 22/9/16 by unknown gunmen believed to be kidnappers from their family house at Ogbelle Ohullor in Udenu council Area of Enugu state.
He said the police operatives “on receiving the information swung into action and intensified their manhunt on suspects and rescue the victims”.
Following intensive searchfor the victims and intelligence information received from members of the public, the operatives traced the suspects to a bush located at Orokam in Benue state, Amarizu stated.
The PPRO indicated that on citing the security men, the suspects engaged them in a gun battle, adding that with the support of the community local security, one of the hoodlums was fatally injured and nabbed.
He said the suspect who was later identified as one Nnabuike Ukwueze (AKA) Nwansukka of iheaka Igboeze south council Area of Enugu state was rushed to hospital where he was confirmed dead.
“However, upon his revelation, three suspects were nabbed namely Ernest Ikeani of Awgu ,Sunday Asogwa of Ohullor Obolloafor Udenu local Government Area and Nonso Nwude of Njikoka in Anambra state just as the woman and the daughter were promptly rescued unhurt without any harm .
“Among items recovered from the suspects is a Renault car with registration number UWN 992 LN allegedly used by the hoodlums.
“The Suspects are helping the operatives in their investigations”, Amarizu added.
