Police Officer Caught on Camera Beating A woman Is Under Investigation

The Lagos police command says its attention has been drawn to one of its officers caught on camera beating up a woman even as it added that the officer has been identified and put behind bars.
The Lagos police boss Umar Manko stated this on Friday through a statement issued in Lagos by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ngozi C. Braide.
The Police chief said “we wish to assure Lagosians that a thorough investigation would be conducted as we are betrothed with protection of life of every citizen, not only that, the Nigeria Police Force is committed to exhibiting high sense of professionalism and respect for the rule of law which is in accordance with the IGP’S code of conduct for Officers.”
Manko pointed out that the Officer is currently in Police custody as investigation has commenced, urging the public that the outcome of the investigation will be made known, as soon as possible.
“Upon viewing the video, we have swiftly set up a team and arrested a Policeman by name Cpl Muhammed Nasir with Force Number 229057 who is believed to have been the one on the alleged video clip.” He disclosed.
