Police Nab PDP Party Leader For Stealing

A ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ward Chairman in Riyom Local Government area of Plateau State, Mr. Gyang Fwa has been arrested by the Police in Kum village, in connection with the stealing of Railway equipment meant for the construction of rail lines.
The materials stolen were meant for rail construction which passes through the village, linking Kuru in Jos South Local Government of the State.
A source told African Examiner that the PDP leader was apprehended along with one Dung Jato popularly known as (Santos) when the security guiding the equipment alerted the police in Riyom council area.
Narrating the incident to African Examiner, an Elder in the area, who craved anonymity, explained, “On Thursday evening last week at about 9 pm, a young man who has just been appointed to guard the Railway equipment saw the culprits and alerted the police since only him couldn’t have over power him, hence, was arrested.
The Elder regretted the incident, saying the community had always warned the youths in the locality against stealing and wondered why those who are suppose to lead by example would descend so low and involved in such criminal activities.
When contacted, the Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, DCP Emmanuel Abu said, ” When I received details from the DPO of the Local Government, I will get back to you”.
As at the time of filing this report, no information relating to the incident from him.
However, African Examiner reliably gathered that since the arrest, some PDP stakeholders in the council area, have been throging the Police station, seeking for bail to be granted the suspect.
