Police Nab Man for Stealing Two Children in Delta
Latest Headlines, News, News From The State Monday, August 3rd, 2015By Ignatius Okpara – The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a notorious 26 year old suspected child-kidnapper, identified as Mr. Okafor Onuwa for stealing two little children in Atuma-Iga community, in Aniocha Council Area of Delta state.
Celestina Kalu, the Command Public Relations Officer, who disclosed this to newsmen in Asaba monday, said that the suspect was arrested by police detectives from Issele-Uku Area Division after he was caught and tortured by some irate mob.
Kalu said: “On July 30, 2015, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO Issele-Uku Division received information that a man identified as Okafor Onuwa, aged 26, of Atuma Iga in Oshimili North L.G.A lured and stole 4 year-old master Chinoso Osakwe and 3 year-old Miss Chinaza Nwakanma.”
According to her, “So based on the information, a police patrol team was drafted to the scene and met the culprit already beaten to coma by an irate mob. The suspect was rescued and rushed to General Hospital, Issele-Uku for treatment.”
The PPRO, who hinted that the young victims were however, rescued unhurt and kept in protective custody pending the arrival of their parents, added that investigation into the matter has commenced.
