Police Nab Fake Naval Officer in Enugu

Police operatives in Udenu Division of Enugu State Command, have nabbed a fake naval officer who gave his name as chukwuneke Onah.

Ebere Amarizu, who disclosed this to AFRICAN EXAMINER on monday in Enugu, said he was arrested by the security men during their routine patrol last saturday “at orba in udenu local government Area of Enugu state.

The Command spokesman, hinted that the suspect was being monitored until his arrest, “based on intelligence gathered that a certain man wants to sell a vehicle believed to have been unlawfully acquired.

According to Amarizu, the suspect who was already dressed in a uniform suspected to be that of the Navy was already negotiated with a buyer in respect of the hilux vehicle which he initially claimed he bought through customs auction before operatives closed him up.

Meanwhile on the spot enquiry conducted on him reveal that he is not a naval officer and also never bought any vehicle from customs auction.

The PPRO said Investigations have commenced in full scale on the matter just as the suspect is begging for forgiveness.

“In another development, operatives of the uwani Division of the Enugu state police Command have nabbed a notorious armed robbery/cultist, identified as Nnamani Egbo Chimezie .

The notorious suspect, resides at 22 oduma street New haven and a native of Obinagu Amaigbo Nome Onateze in Nkanu East local Government Area of Enugu state who has been terrorising uwani and other parts of the metroplis with his gang.

He was nabbed by the operatives on stop and search duty at Kenyata by railway crossing and immediate search on him led to the recovery of thirteen rounds of 38 sp chief revolver live ammunition.

The PPRO said the Suspect further revealed that he is a member of Neo Black movement cult group and is now helping the operatives to get at other gang members.

Meanwhile further search on his residence led to the recovery of six locally made double barrel short gun loaded with live cartridge each as well as the recovery of six rounds of live cartridges.

The Suspect and his gangs are known notorious cultists/car snatchers.
