Police Kill Notorious Kidnapper In Imo

The police in Imo on Tuesday killed a notorious criminal and suspected kidnapper whose gang have been terrorising Owerri, the state capital and environ for quite a long time.
A team of policemen who gunned down the hoodlum, trailed him to a hotel in Owerri, located around Works Layout, (name withheld).
However, sources close to the Imo state police command, told our correspondent in Owerri that the notorious criminal whose identity was not made known by the police, had attempted to flee in his ash-coloured Jeep when he sensed danger but was not fast enough to outwit the heavily armed security operatives who opened fire on him.
Meanwhile, there had been heavy presence of armed policemen in the hotel premises since after the incident.
The remains of the suspected kidnapper, was later ferried out of the scene via a black Jeep belonging to the police.
But the suspect Infinity Jeep with Registration Number LAGOS 65 AZ is still at the scene of the incident at the time of filing this report.
Joy Elemoko, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the incident when contacted.
The Imo police spokesperson, also hinted that the security operatives had been on the trail of the suspect for some time now.
The PPRO, warned criminals in the state to quit the unholy act of kidnapping or be ready to face the music if apprehended by law enforcement agents.
