Police Intercept Fraudsters, Using ATM Cards To Withdraw From Third Party Accounts

Enugu state Police Command on Monday nabbed two suspected fraudsters while trying to withdraw money from a third party’s account in one of the old generation banks at Oji council Area of Enugu state.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ebere Amarizu who disclosed to AFRICAN EXAMINER on Tuesday in Enugu, said the suspects were apprehended by operatives of the No 3 Police Mobile Force Enugu, who acted on intelligence information.
According to him, the suspects who gave their names as Anthony Emeka Nwokeocha, from Afuguri village Umuahia, Abia State and Anayo Nweke of Ara-Nise Village Awka south local Government Area of Anambra state “had allegedly stormed the bank at about 7am on February 8, 2016 with an Automated Teller Machine Cards (ATM) suspected to have been stolen from a victim.
“The operatives acting on the intelligence/information gathered struck and nabbed them
“Recovered from the suspects were, a Peugeot 406 car with registration number NSH 32 CW Anambra, 14 ATM CARDS of different Banks”
Others include, “some amount of local and foreign currencies, as well as a laptop.
Amarizu, disclosed that the suspects are now helping the Command’s operatives in their investigations.
