Police In Lagos Nab Three Armed Robbery Suspects
Crime Watch, Featured, Latest Headlines Tuesday, December 17th, 2013Three armed robbery suspects were on Tuesday paraded at the Ikeja, police command, Lagos over alleged car theft.
According to the suspects- Jamiu Agboola, 20years, Tobi Oyeyinka 24years and Lanre Otunola 18 years were arrested on 15th December as a result of an information received by SP. Abba Kyari that two robbed cars were parked by people suspected to be armed robbers at market street Oyigbo area of Lagos as they were looking for buyers.
A team of Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) decoy personnel proceeded to the area, sighted the vehicles and thereafter laid ambush for 23 hours before arresting the suspects.
The suspects all confessed to have robbed the cars at Opere Street, Coker Aguda, Surulere, Lagos on 14th December.
Items recovered from them includes: two locally made pistols, four live cartridges, one Accura MDX SUV with registration number AKD 09AA, and a Toyota Highlander with registration number AGL327CD.
One of the suspects, Toibu Oyeyinka told African Examiner that a gang member nicked named ‘ibadan’ asked them to supply a vehicle headlamp.
“I am at lumberjack at Ebute Meta, the man called ‘Ibadan’ called me for the robbery because he knows my mother, these other people are always around where I work, so when ‘Ibadan’ contacted me, I told others about the assignment to steal, we are all looking for our daily bread. I followed them because I need money for Christmas.” He confessed
Jamiu Agboola another osuspect who is a bus conductor told African Examiner that someone approached him that he has access to two guns that they should go and look for money.
“He took us to Ajegunle and we got there around 12 a.m as we were going, we saw a house that the door was opened, we entered the house and robbed them of two laptops and some mobile phones” he stated.
