Police Confirms Arrest Of Suspect Who Kills Wife Over Adultery In Ebonyi

The Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one James Uguru, who recently beat to death his wife, identified as Jacinta over adultery.
Confirming the incident to newsmen Monday in Abakaliki, the State’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), George Okafor, said the barbaric act took place at Ndubia Inyimaegu community in Izzi council area of the State.
Okafor said, investigations revealed that the suspect had angrily beaten his wife to stupor last weekend, when the deceased was stopped from chasing after her alleged lover boy.
The Command Spokesman disclosed that the suspect has been arrested, while efforts were being made by their men to apprehend the alleged deceased lover.
Uguru, who is a Lagos based, it was further gathered was said to be suspicious his late wife alleged promiscuity following rumours making the rounds on the matter in the community whenever he visits home to see his family.
It was learned that trouble started when the couple were discussing in the sitting room and suddenly a phone started ringing in their bedroom, and the husband stood up to go for the phone, but his wife held his waist, preventing him from moving.
Sources explained while the woman was still golding her husband so as to prevent him from entering the bedroom, the wife’s alleged lover ran out from their bedroom.
However, his wife’s insistence that he should not chase after the man made him vent his anger on her.
“He started punching the woman, who eventually collapsed and was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead.”
The source hinted that the suspect had been comfortable with wife over speculation of having an extra-marital affair with the said lover before the unfortunate incident.
