Police Arrest Pastor’s Sons Over Raping Of Siblings Inside Church In Ebonyi

By Ignatius Okpara, Abakaliki

The rape incidents presently hanging on the neck of scores of Ebonyi indigenes, have increased, as the Police in the State Thursday arrested two brothers, said to be children of a Pastor for allegedly raping two sisters inside the church.

According to the police, the suspects perpetrated the unholy act recently at Kafuso Ogwu of Ishiagu community in Ivo Local Government Area of the State.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the State Police public Relations officer (PPRO), George Okafor, said, “the children’s parents are living around the church where the father of the suspects currently serves as a pastor.

He disclosed that “a medical report showed that the two children were defiled and the matter is already in court,”

The rapists, whose names were given as Nnaemeka Nnamani and Chiemerie Nnamani, allegedly lured two sisters simply identified as Favour and Uloma to a corner in the church and had carnal knowledge of them.

A source from the community, who identified himself as Igwe Moses, told newsmen that, “It is not just defiling these children who are seven and nine years, but the two brothers, have committed a sacrilege.

“They lured the minors to a corner of the church and raped them.

“This is very bad, how would someone whose father has been preaching against such ungodly acts not learn anything good?

“This is discretion of the church,” Moses added, stressing that they sinned against God and man for defiling these innocent children.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Spokesperson, ASP George Okafor, said, “The children’s parents are living around the church where the father of the suspects currently serves as a Pastor.

“A medical report showed that the two children were defiled and the matter is already in court,” the Police Spokesperson restated.
