Police Arrest Man Over Sudden Death Of Banker’s Wife
Featured, Latest Headlines Wednesday, May 27th, 2015Ignatius Okpara, Enugu – The Enugu state police Command says its Criminal Investigation Department has arrested one Obinna Okonkwo over the sudden death of his wife, Uchenna Okonkwo, who allegedly committed suicide recently in Nsukka area of the state.
According to the state police public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ebere Amarizu who dropped the hint in a chat with African Examiner in Enugu on Tuesday, the deceased was a banker until her untimely death.
He said “the police have commenced full scale Investigations surrounding the circumstances that triggered the alleged sudden death of Uchenna Okonkwo.” Adding that “the deceased believed to be about 32 years old and a wife to one Obinna Okonkwo residing at Orba road Nsukka Enugu, was said to have met her untimely death on Sunday May 24, 2015 in their room.
“It was gathered that the deceased was found on that fateful day in the visitor’s room of their apartment with a rope tied on the neck to portray suicide.
“But background check conducted revealed that the deceased who was a banker had unresolved issues with the husband while alive.
Amarizu said :”It was further gathered that the circumstances surrounding the death portray it questionable, hence a foul play is suspected.”
He disclosed that the remains of the victim have been deposited at the mortuary of Bishop Shanaham Hospital Nsukka for necessary action, just as the husband is being investigated.
