Plateau Assembly Pledges To Work For Peace And Unity
Agabus Pwanagba, Latest Headlines, News From The State Monday, August 10th, 2015From Agabus Pwanagba, Jos – Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Peter Azi, has assured citizens of the State that the 8th Assembly would work towards a united, strong and peaceful Plateau.
Azi gave the assurance when the Laity Council of the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos paid him a courtesy call in his office.
“We want to assure the people of Plateau that we will not fail; and that we shall bring positive development to the state.
The Speaker said that the people who made up the current State’s Assembly were experienced and would not enact laws that could dent their image and that of the State.
“The caliber of people here are not only experienced personalities, but people who are ready to die if that is what is required to keep one indivisible entity.
Hon. Azi emphasized that members were working with the executive arm of government toward policies that would help Plateau to attain its optimum potential and called for support from all.
“We, in the House of Assembly, have decided to consider Plateau first despite our political differences.
“We have dropped our political parties at the gate and resolved to face the real business of enacting good and people- oriented laws”. Azi stressed.v
