Pilot of Crashed Military Helicopter Survives
Featured, Latest Headlines Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014The Pilot of the Nigerian Air force Mi-35 Helicopter which crashed on Monday afternoon in Southern Bama, Borno State, North Eastern Nigeria, has been rescued alive.
However, 3 crew-members including a technician, were not that lucky as they lost their lives in the chopper accident.
The ill-fated chopper was said to be on a training mission before it crash-landed in Bama community.
A statement by the Defence headquarters Spokesperson, Maj Gen Chris Olukolade stated that rescue operations are still ongoing.
The accident occurred in the fighting zone of the Islamic militants, Boko Haram raising questions on whether the chopper was brought down by the terrorist group.
However, as at the time of filling this report, no one or group has claimed responsibility for the crash.
