PDP Slams Buhari Over UK Private Visit
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Friday, April 26th, 2019(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Barely 24 hours after his travelling, President Muhammadu Buhari has come under attack from the first opposition, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), describing the President’s 10-day private visit to the United Kingdom (UK) as an unknown voyage.
The PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, made the outburst Friday at a media briefing in Abuja on the state of the nation.
Secondus contested that it was condemnable that President Buhari deemed it necessary to travel to the UK without formally informing the National Assembly (NASS).
The opposition party Leader also picked hole on the allegation that the President failed to hand over properly to his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo before embarking on the journey.
The PDP Chieftain wondered about the timing of President’s trip – noting that eight local government areas of Katsina State, Buhari’s home state, have been allegedly overtaken by suspected bandits.
Secondus lamented that the trip was coming when insecurity in the country has risen to a level where people question if there was still government in Nigeria.
