Former Bauchi state governor, Alh Adamu Mu’azu has been selected as the new national chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He is expected to be confirmed at a meeting of the National Executive council scheduled to hold later today (Monday) in Abuja.
Muazu will be replacing the embattled former national chairman Bamanga Tukur who was forced to resign last week.
African Examiner gathered that Alh Muazu’s was adopted at a late night meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP governors.
Muazu was picked ahead other candidates from the north-east zone because the caucus believes he is a loyal party man who can bring back the aggrieved party members and prepare the party for the 2015 crucial elections.
