PDP Governors Reject Secondus; Ask Him To Hand Over To Party’s Scribe

Twenty four hours after a former aide to the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan, Bar. Ahmed Gulak declared himself as the National Chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party’s Governors’ Forum has rejected the embattled acting party’s head, Prince Uche Secondus.
Decision to this effect was reached Wednesday night by the PDP Governors in a meeting they held at the Abuja Headquarters of the party.
Consequently, the Governors directed Secondus to transfer running of the PDP affairs to its National Secretary, Professor Wale Oladipo.
Following the recent court verdict which held the party’s Chairmanship position was zoned to the North Eastern part of the country, Gulak Wednesday did the unexpected, when he declared himself the party’s head, contending the first opposition party in Nigeria could not be left “headless”.
His action has however be condemned by a section of the PDP leadership hierarchy.
