Pandemonium in Bokkos As Varsity Students Protest Killing of a Colleague

The killing of a student of Solomon Lar University (Plateau State University), Bokkos, Plateau State by unknown gunmen led to a mass protest by student on Tuesday morning, which cause pandemonium in Bokkos town and environs.
A source told African Examiner that three students were shot late Monday night around their hostel premises but one of them died as a result of gunshots wounds while two others are currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
The source further said the students destroyed the checkpoints of men of the Special Task force close to the school.
It was also gathered that, due to the incident, vehicular movement around the town came to a halt as a result of the protest, which lasted for hours. It took the intervention of security operatives (mobile police) to calm the situation.
However a student, who spoke to our correspondent but does not want his name in print said immediately the news broke out, the students of the school on Tuesday morning, took to the street to protest the shooting.
Efforts to get the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr. John Agams to comment on the development failed, as he could not be reached at the time of filling this report.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, the STF spokesman, Captain Salisu Mustapha and the Police Public Relations Officer, Felicia Anslem could not be reached.
However normalcy is said to have been restored in the affected communities.
