Pandemonium Erupts In Jos South Over Killing Of Widow

There was a pandemonium in Bukuru metropolis of Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State on Tuesday morning following the killing of a widow allegedly killed by Muslim youths in the area.
African Examiner gathered that the victim was a widow and a Christian in which her death sparked off reprisal attack by some Christian youths in Gyel Junction also in Jos South Local Government.
It was gathered that following the reprisal attack, a woman died instantly from gunshot and another one was badly injured.
The injured person was taken to Bingham University teaching Hospital in Jos for treatment.
The situation disrupted commercial activities and all schools were immediately shutdown around 8:30 am for fear of attacks.
Confirming the incident, the Media Officer of the Special Task Force responsible for the maintenance of peace in the State, Captain Salisu Mustapha told journalists that the woman was killed in Bukuru, which sparked reaction in the area.
He said the incident created panic and tension as people were running for safety adding that personnel of STF were on ground monitoring the situation with a view to nipping in the bud any attempt by miscreants to cause any break down of law and order in the area.
As at the time of filling this report normalcy has returned to the area while more STF personnel have been mobilized to prevent further break down of law and order.
