Oyo Assembly Debunks Rumour to Impeach Governor Ajimobi

The Oyo State House of Assembly has dismissed the rumour to impeach the State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
The dismissal came from a member of the legislative House, Hon. Murphy Adigun Ahmed. The lawmaker explained in Ibadan, the state capital on Monday that the clarification was necessary so as to correct an impression making the rounds that the House was planning to move a motion to impeach the governor.
Our Correspondent gathered that the state legislators instead of impeachment motion, was focusing on its constitutional mandate to develop the state. The source told African Examiner that the House members were keen on moving the state forward.
The Oyo state House of Assembly comprises 18 All Progressive Congress (APC) while the remaining 14 seats are shared by the two oppositions – PDP and Accord parties.
The speculation of the planned impeachment motion against Governor Ajimobi was rife last weekend, culminating in convening of various emergency meetings by various camps in the legislative house and stakeholders in the state.
