2 INEC Officials Arrested For Moving Sensitive Materials In Osun
Featured, Latest Headlines, osun election 2014 Friday, August 8th, 2014Two officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State were early Friday morning arrested for diverting sensitive election materials.
African Examiner gathered that the two officials were arrested around 3.00 am by the police. One of the suspects is said to be the Electoral Officer for the LG and confessed to the act but refused to name those who sent him as he pleaded for mercy.
A source in Osun said the INEC official did not deny when confronted that he was sighted inside vehicles belonging to a PDP stalwart in Obokun, Chief Francis Ade Fadahunsi as his phone call log also showed clearly that he’s had constant voice and SMS communication with the PDP chief
The vigilant people of Otan-Ile would have lynched the suspects but for the intervention of police officers. The INEC vehicle with registration number FG816V01 used in transporting the materials and the suspects involved are presently held at the State CID of the Police Command in Osogbo.
