Osun PDP Primaries: Isiaka Adeleke Backs Out Of Race

Former Governor of Osun State and one of the aspirants in tomorrow’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial primaries, Isiaka Adeleke has backed out of the election.
Addressing journalists in his Ede hometown Friday’s evening, Isiaka Adeleke said his life and those of his supporters are under constant threat.
“I have decided to boycott the primary election holding in Osogbo tomorrow because of irregularities that characterize the last ward congress and the violence that is being promoted by some of the aspirants.”
Meanwhile, all is now set for the PDP gubernatorial election in Osun state where three aspirants are jostling to get the ticket of the party to contest against Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the incumbent governor of the state in August 9 gubernatorial election.
The aspirants are Senator Iyiola Omisore, former chairman, Senate committee on Appropriation, Sen Olasunkanmi Akinlabi, former Minister of Youth Affairs, and Hon. Oluwole Oke, former Chairman, House committee on defence.
Over 1000 delegates are expected to vote at the primaries.
