The Chairman, Committee on Peaceful Co-Existence between Fulani/Bororo and Crop Farmers in Osun State, Mr. Oguntola Toogun, confirmed the incident
He said: “The deceased are Alhaji Yaya Momodu (grandfather), Alhaja Adamo Yaya (wife), Alhaja Awawu Yaya (wife), Mumini Ibrahim, Mumini Abdulahi and Moriamo Ibrahim (grandchildren).
Oguntola, who yesterday led the state government delegate to Ilorin in Kwara State for the burial of the victims, said that the three grandchildren were buried at the Muslim burial ground in Ilorin, while the grandfather and his two wives were buried beside the mosque on the estate owned by the grandfather.
“The Emir of Ilorin was represented at the burial that took place on the estate owned by Alhaji Momodu, opposite Air Force School, near International Airport, Ilorin.
“They appreciated Osun State Government on the way we handled the matter. We told them that the act was not ethnic related, but a criminal act. We don’t have problem with the Fulani. Three of the grandchildren were buried at the Muslim burial ground in Ilorin.
Osun State Government yesterday confirmed the arrest of one suspect.
