Osun 2014: Omisore Head To Election Tribunal

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer in August 9 governorship election in Osun state, Senator Iyiola Omisore has filed petition against the victory of APC and Rauf Aregbesola at the election tribunal in Osogbo.
Omisore’s legal team on Wednesday submitted the petition at the election tribunal sitting in High Court, Osogbo.
The media aide of the PDP governorship candidate, Victor Oriola made this known in a statement made available to journalists.
Oriola stated that Omisore decided to seek redress at the tribunal due to irregularities and monumental frauds that marred the August 9 election as a result APC desperation to win.
He expressed optimism that the tribunal would return the stolen mandate of Omisore.
Meanwhile, the APC legal team headed by Muiz Banire has also sought the approval of the Osun governorship election tribunal to inspect all electoral materials used in 23 local government areas of the state for election.
The ruling APC in the state also wants to carry out forensic analysis of ballot papers and result sheets.
The party noted that they would prove Aregbesola’s electoral victory at the tribunal.
