Senator Iyiola Omisore, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in 2014 gubernatorial election in Osun state has urged the party National Working Committee to conduct a ree and fair primary election that will be acceptable to all.
Omisore stated this on Tuesday at PDP National Headquarter after submission of his nomination form.
In his word: “I will advise the party National Working Committee to conduct free, fair and credible primary election in Osun state. We are peace loving people in the state and as a loyal party man, I will abide by the outcome of the primary election”.
The Ife born political carpeted Aregbesola’s administration in the state, adding that lack-luster performance of Aregbesola had shown that All Progressives Congress had nothing to offer.
“I am here in the PDP to submit my nomination forms to vie for the governorship of Osun State. I disagree with the question posed that South-West is composed of APC states. It is not the APC state; they came to the zone through the back door. We contested the court decisions; I can assure you, PDP will win in the zone hands down.” He said.
He disclosed that the present administration has not completed any project in the last four years, while the government has not paid workers salary in the past three months, adding that there is nothing to show for governance in Osun in the past four years.
He condemned the school merger policy of Aregbesola, saying the policy has caused unnecessary religion crisis in the state.
“The educational system has been bastardized for financial reasons. Osun State has secularity of religion. So, we have no business with religion creeping into our educational system.
“What Aregbesola and his APC are doing in Osun is part of administrative laziness; it is a lack of capacity; it shows a lack of depth; it shows a party, which will stop at nothing than to divide the people.’’ He stated.
Meanwhile, the first civilian Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke, has said that elders of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state persuaded him to pick form and run for the office again.
He stated that the leaders of the party in the state believed that with him, the chances of the party winning the election would be 80 per cent.
African Examiner investigation revealed that three aspirants; Iyiola Omisore, Isiaka Adeleke and Olasunkanmi Akinlabi have submitted their nomination forms.
While Oluwole Oke and major financier of party in the state, Alhaji Bakare from Ilesa might pick and submit their nomination form before March 28 deadline.
The PDP primary election in Osun state is slated for April 5, 2014.
