Oshiomhole Sacks 4 Commissioners
Featured, Latest Headlines, News From The State Wednesday, September 9th, 2015By Collins Amadi – Four Edo State, South South Nigeria Commissioners have been shown the way out of the State’s Executive council, by the Comrade Governor, Adams Oshimhole.
The development was made public in a statement issued Wednesday in Benin, the State capital, by Oshiomhole’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Prince Kassim Afegbua.
Affected were the Commissioners for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Lucky James; Women Affairs, Mrs. Blessing Maigida; Basic Education, Mr. Patrick Aguinede; Energy and Water Resources, Mr. Chris Ebare.
The statement did not link the action to any factor, yet, explained the development was in line with government’s commitment to strengthen the “system towards optimal performance”.
In addition, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Governor indicated that the Executives’ disengagement was with the immediate effect. In effect, Oshiomhole directed the former Commissioners to handover all government properties in their possession to their respective Permanent Secretaries.
Governor Oshimhole also thanked the former appointees for their services to the state as well as wished them well in their future endeavours.
