Ooni’s Coronation: Buhari, Sultan Wish Oba Ogunwusi Prosperous Tenure

The first coronation of the newly crowned Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, is ongoing in the ancient town of the South West Osun State.
The event which is holding at the Enuwa square in front of Ooni’s palace is being attended by prominent traditional rulers across the country. Among the Monarch are the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar and Queen Elizabeth of England.
President Muhammadu Buhari who is represented by his Deputy, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, in his address at the occasion, prayed God to give Oba Ogunwusi the wisdom to pilot the affairs of his enclave and people. He also congratulated him on ascension to his fore father’s throne.
Similarly, the Sultan in his address pledged his support as well as domain to the new Yoruba paramount ruler.
The staff of office is expected to be presented to the new Ooni, by the Chief host, the State of Osun Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
Oba Ogunwusi, the 51st Ooni is from Giesi Royal family of Ife. He succeeded the immediate past Ooni, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, who died July 28, after illness in a London Hospital. He passed on at the age of 85.
