Ooni Of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi Marries Another Wife From Edo

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has got married to another wife, Olori Wuraola nee Obanor.
The traditional marriage which was conducted according to Edo culture, held at the bride’s Ewere Street, Etete, residence in Oredo Local Government Area of the State, Benin, the Edo State capital.
Olori Wuraola was presented in the afternoon, to the Ooni’s family by her father, Mr. Williams Obanor, after payment of bride price in the presence of her family.
The Esogban of Benin Kingdom and other Chiefs in line with the Benin tradition supervised the wedding rites. The Olori was placed on her father-in-law lap after counting of seven.
After, Olori Wuraola was presented with gifts from friends, family members and relatives. Traditional dancers from Benin and Ife added to the glamour of the historic event.
The bride’s father expressed joy on the occasion, stating, “When you get a good thing in life, you must be grateful to God because this is all the work of God. I never thought it could be so, because I never thought that, one of these days, I will become very close to the Ooni of Ife. Now that it has happened, I feel grateful to God. So, I wish her a happy married life.”
Mr. Obanor urged the new Olori to be very polite, obedient and understanding. He prayed God would grant all her requests.
“If you have any problem with your husband don’t let a third person to hear of it; go to him and both of you should resolve the problem together amicably’ counseled Olori’s father.
Friends, members and relatives of the two families attended the traditional wedding.
