One Million People To Benefit From Kwara Health Insurance Scheme
Latest Headlines, News, News From The State Friday, March 6th, 2015No fewer than one million people are set to benefit from the ongoing community health insurance scheme in Kwara.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Dr Muyideen Akorede stated this on Friday in Ilorin during an interview with the newsmen.
This he said is in line with government’s commitment to the provision of quality, affordable and accessible healthcare service.
Dr Akorede explained that this remained an indication of government’s commitment to achieving its transformation of the health sector to create a disease-free society.
He assured of plans to renovate additional five hospitals to further drive government’s plan of moving health centres closer to the people, stressing that against all odds, the scheme received international recognition for its effective coverage.
On education, he said having rehabilitated 400 blocks of classrooms across the state, an additional 120 was in the pipeline for complete refurbishing in line with global standard.
According to him, this plan is aimed at discouraging study abroad, adding that adequate synergy had also been perfected with private firms to ensure that the projects are maintained effectively.
He explained that this sundry plans could only be realistic if the people vote massively for the All Progressives Congress and refuse being distracted by the antics of opposition who had little or nothing to offer.
Dr Akorede promised that Governor Ahmed would exceed expectations if elected again into office as he had credibly proved his mettle with his track record of achievements. (NAN)
