The PDP governorship candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore has accused ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state of provoking PDP supporters in Ile-Ife by APC thugs popularly called ‘state boys’.
Omisore fingered Hon Rotimi Makinde and Senator Omoworare as the mastermind of the attack.
He noted that the APC decided to attack his supporters to cause crisis in PDP strongholds ahead of August 9 governorship election.
The statement reads: “It has been brought to our notice the brazen and dastardly show of lawlessness by thugs and Urchins from the APC fold believed to be sponsored by Rotimi Makinde and Senator Omoworare.
“Our supporters are daily being matcheted and attacked in Ife with the sole aim of provoking them to retaliate.
While we are aware that it is their stock in trade to incite and brutalise, we urge our supporters to please resist the urge to be provoked as necessary action is being taken by Security agents. We hereby warn the attackers that they don’t have the monopoly to violence.”
