Okorocha Sacks His Female Commissioner

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state Thursday announced the immediate suspension of the commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Mrs. Nma Onyechere,
The governor also suspended the Transition Committee Chairman of Oguta Local Government area, Chief Henry Igbomezie.
According to the Governor who made the announcement through his Senior Special Assistant, media, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, said the decision to suspend the female commissioner was taken at the last state Executive Council meeting.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Education (Primary/Secondary), Dr. Mrs. Uche Ejiogu has been directed to oversee the affairs of the ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development till further notice.
Chief Igbomezie has also been replaced by Dr. Louis Obodo as the new chairman for the Transition Committee of the Local Government.
Okorocha, who did not give any explanation for the sack of the two officials, simply said “their suspension was in the best interest of the administration and the people of the state in general.”
