Okorocha Rejects APC’s Link to Boko Haram
Featured, Latest Headlines Thursday, July 17th, 2014After its national body made similar denial some days ago, the Imo State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC), has reaffirmed it has no link with the dreaded Boko Haram as alleged by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The clarification was given on Thursday by the State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, during a breakfast meeting with political appointees and APC stakeholders at the Government House, Owerri.
Okorocha who like his party parent’s body recalled there was no correlation in the allegation and facts of history saying insurgents group has been in existence before emergence of his party.
The Governor therefore called on members not to be distracted by the spurious rumour and allow it to affect their support to the party
Governor Okorocha disclosed that the Party’s loss in recent Ekiti gubernatorial poll was occasioned by the elite and the grassroots, adding that APC leaders in the state were not on ground.
Meanwhile, the Governor said he has no doubt that APC would emerge winner of the coming state of Osun governorship election, which is barely three weeks away.
