ENUGU, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Former spokesman of the Nigeria police force, Emmanuel Ojukwu, has officially assumed duty as the new Enugu state Commissioner of police CP.
The state police public Relations officer, PPRO, Ebere Amarizu, disclosed this on saturday to AFRICAN EXAMINER in Enugu.
According to Amarizu, before the new appointment, Ojukwu, was the commissioner of police in charge of Eastern Port Command, Port Harcourt River state.
The Enugu police boss, took over from Nwodibo Ekechukwu who was recently redeployed to Eastern Port Command, Rivers state.
Our Correspondent gathered that the redeployment of the ex- Enugu police commissioner, (Nwodibo),may not be unconnected with the recent Fulani herdsmen, attack on Nimbo community in Uzo- Uwani council Area of Enugu state.

However, Ojukwu, has promised to partner with all relevant stakeholders in the state, including sister security agencies, and the media for effective crime prevention and control in the state.
He had before now served the force in various capacities such as Assistant commissioner of police in charge of Force Public Relations Department, Deputy commissioner of police in charge of criminal investigation Department Imo state command.
He also served as Deputy commissioner of police in charge of Criminal Investigations Department Zone 7 police Headquarters, Abuja from where he became the commissioner of police in charge of Force Public Relations Department Force Headquarters Abuja, and thereafter became the commissioner of police in charge of Kogi state.
