Ex-Lawmaker and the Executive Secretary of Anti-Corruption Network, Mr. Dino Melaye has again been arrested by the police, this time around, over “criminal intimidation and threat to life.”
In this new arrest, the police armed with an arrest warrant dated Sunday November 4, 2013 and issued by the senior magistrate court, FCT division, said Mr Melaye was under arrest for criminal intimidation and threat to life.
He was then whisked away while his house was said to have been searched.
Responding to the new arrest and charges, Mr Melaye said he was surprised with the arrest saying the police have refused to tell him the person that he criminally intimidated that warrants his arrest.
Meanwhile, our correspondent gathered that Mr Melaya may be arraigned today (Tuesday) for “criminal intimidation and threat to life.”
About two weeks ago, the police arrested Mr Melaye at the federal secretariat, Abuja when leading some protesters against the N255 million Bullet Proof car scandals rocking the Minister of Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah.
Interestingly, our correspondent reports that the same police that arrested anti-Oduah protesters led by Melaye, provided protection for pro-Oduah protesters, same at the federal secretariat area, Abuja.
The FCT police Commissioner later released Mr Malaye without any issue or charges against him.
