Obi’s Defection To PDP Is Non-Issue – Gov. Obiano

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has broken has silence on the recent defection of the immediate past governor of the state, Mr. Peter Obi from the state ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), to the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), describing it as a non-issue.
The Governor observed that Obi, who until his defection was the APGA’s Chairman, Board of Trustee (BOT), came to the party alone and had left alone.
Obiano, spoke on Wednesday while receiving a PDP stalwart in Nnewi South local government Area of the state, Dr. Jeff Okeke, who defected to APGA.
Represented by his political Liaison Officer in Nnewi South council Area, John Ekemezie, the governor, said the party had become stronger than ever before, as scores of new members have continued to troop into the party ahead of 2015 general polls.
Obiano, stated that there was no cause for alarm in APGA because of a single man’s defection, stressing that the party remained a peaceful political platform for all.
In his speech, a Chieftain of APGA in the area, Mr. Charles Elukeme, described politics as a game of interest, saying it was unfortunate that a man would build a house and abandon it.
