Obiano’s Election Upheld By The Supreme Court

The election that installed Chief Willie Obiano over a year ago, as the Anambra state Governor has been upheld by the Nigeria Supreme Court.
The seven Judges of the Supreme Court Monday in Abuja, delivered a unanimous judgement, in favour of Obiano as they dismissed the suits filed by the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), and the ruling People Democratic Party (PDP), candidates, Senator Chris Ngigie and Comrade Tony Nwoye respectively on failure to provide substantial evidences according electoral law, to warrant upturn of the election outcome.
The widely condemned poll was conducted in 2013 with accusations of many irregularities, notably among was that the PDP candidate unable to cast his vote as his name could not be found on the voters’ register at his polling unit among many electoral malpractices.
Authorities of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) equally admitted the poll was fraught with many errors.
